UPDATE – Armed Robbery Suspect Caught: Upon receiving information this morning on his whereabouts, Bossier City police arrested 19-year old Frederick C. Walker at his last known residence in the 1500 block of Teekell Street. Members of the Bossier City S.W.A.T team took Walker into custody at approximately 11 a.m. after they entered the home and found Walker hiding in a bedroom underneath a bed.
He was transferred to the Bossier City Jail where he will be booked on a charge of armed robbery.
(Original news release issued June 25, 2008) POLICE SEEK SUSPECT WANTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY Bossier City police are seeking a suspect wanted for the armed robbery of a money loan and check cashing business a few weeks ago. Detectives have obtained a criminal arrest warrant for 19-year old Frederick C. Walker charging him with armed robbery for the May 30th hold up of the Easy Money Store in the 3000 block of Old Minden Road.
Walker reportedly walked into the store, pointed a gun at an employee and demanded money. He then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. |

NEWEST AND LARGEST CLASS OF FIREFIGHTER RECRUITS TO GRADUATE |

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Date: June 26, 2008
A graduation ceremony for the Bossier City Fire Department’s newest and largest class of recruits will take place Tuesday, July 1 at 5:30 p.m. at the Bossier Civic Center, 620 Benton Road. Fire Chief Sammy Halphen will administer the oath to 19 new firefighters and will be joined by Mayor Lorenz “Lo” Walker in welcoming them to the fire department.
The new firefighters are Jonathan Arnette, James Cassel, Brian Foster, Robbie Furr, Taylor Gamel, Stephen Guell, Matthew Hale, Jared Harper, Bryan Jones, Jeremy Lewing, Robert Moore, Germel Rawlings, Dwayne Restivo, Charlie Rowell, Brandon St. Amant, Matthew Seale, Heath Sexton, Corey Tuminello, and Jon Warren, Jr.
The class began its training in February which involved 6 weeks of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training and 12 weeks of firefighter training. Their lessons included classroom and manipulative training covering a wide facet of fire operations such as live fire suppression, hazardous materials, emergency medical services and emergency rescue among other areas.
Upon graduating the new firefighters will be assigned to their respective shifts on the fire line.
